Terms of Service
Last updated October 25, 2026
- Promus helps you and your business; you stay in charge. Promus never pays, books or messages anyone for you without your OK.
- Pros, businesses and workers on Promus are independent. They, not Promus, do the work and answer for it.
- Texts: reply STOP to stop, HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
- Don't copy, scrape or take apart Promus.
1. Who we are
Promus ("Promus", "we", "us") runs mypromus.com, the Promus owner app, door screens and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you use it for a business, you agree for that business too.
2. Your account
Keep your login private and tell us right away if someone else gets in. You're responsible for what happens under your account. You must be at least 18 to open an account.
3. What Promus does, and doesn't
- Promus uses SI (artificial intelligence) to answer customers, take orders, keep lists and send reminders. SI can make mistakes: check important details such as prices, hours, dates and amounts.
- Promus never pays, books, buys or sends a message on your behalf unless you confirm it. You make the final choice and complete payments yourself.
- Maps, speed limits, traffic, events and package updates come from outside sources and may be late or wrong. Always obey road signs and the law; never use the app in a way that distracts you while driving.
- Promus is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911.
4. Plans and billing
Paid plans renew each month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in the owner app; your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Prices are shown before you pay. Card payments are processed by Stripe, Square or PayMongo; we don't store full card numbers.
SI chats and fair use. Each plan includes a monthly number of SI chats (one customer conversation = one chat) and "deep answers", shown on the plan. Each plan also has a monthly fair-use budget for SI and text costs. When the chats or the budget run out, Promus keeps greeting customers with simple replies until the next month, until you add a chat pack, or until you upgrade. Unused chats and packs don't carry over to the next month.
5. Payments between customers and businesses or pros
- When you pay a business or pro through Promus, the payment processor moves the money. Promus is not a party to your deal with them.
- Protected payments: when a pro offers it, your payment is held and released to the pro 5 days after they mark the job done, unless you report a problem first. A reported problem pauses the release while we review the job record from both sides; we may release, split or refund based on what we see. Your card company's own dispute rights still apply.
- Deposits, cancellations and refunds follow the terms each business or pro shows before you pay, and the law where the work happens.
6. Promus Pros and home help
Pros are independent businesses or people, not Promus employees or agents. Pros are responsible for their licenses, permits, insurance, taxes and the quality and safety of their work. Badges such as "ID verified" or "Licensed" mean we checked the item shown on the date shown; they are not a guarantee. For childcare, senior care and work in your home, meet first, check references and follow the safety tips in the app.
7. Hiring and shifts
Businesses and households that post jobs are the employer (or client) and are responsible for following wage, hiring, anti-discrimination, tax and safety laws. Promus checks posts for common problems, but those checks are not legal advice. Promus never charges workers to apply.
8. Text messages (SMS)
If you give your phone number and agree, Promus and the businesses you use may text you about your orders, your place in line, bookings, packages, shifts you signed up for, and urgent account or safety alerts. How often depends on what you use. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts and HELP for help, or email hello@mypromus.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We don't send marketing texts unless you separately agree.
9. Sponsored listings and partners
Listings marked "Sponsored" or "Boosted" are paid placements. When you book travel or other services through a partner link, Promus may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. You book and pay on the partner's site under their terms.
10. Your content
You own what you upload (menus, photos, résumés, posts). You give Promus permission to store, show and process it only to run the Service for you. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to share, or anything illegal, hateful, misleading or harmful.
11. Promus's property: no copying
The Promus software, website, name, logo, mascot, designs and text belong to Promus and are protected by copyright, trademark and trade-secret law. You may use the Service as offered. You may not:
- copy, resell, rent or rebuild any part of the Service, its design or its features;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or try to get the source code, prompts or models behind it;
- scrape, crawl or pull data from it with bots, or use it to train an AI model;
- use the Promus name, logo or mascot without written permission;
- get around limits, security or payments, or overload the Service.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using Promus and delete your account anytime. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or put others at risk. Sections 5, 10, 11, 13 and 14 still apply afterwards.
13. Disclaimers and limits
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, Promus is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts of businesses, pros, workers or partners you meet through it. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid Promus in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
14. Law and disputes
California law governs these Terms. Before filing a claim, email us so we can try to fix it within 30 days. Claims go to the state or federal courts in San Francisco County, California, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Using the Service after that means you accept the new Terms.
